Addis Ababa (Ethiopia Today), October 9, 2023: The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Ethiopia, Demeke Mekonnen, inaugurated the African Kaizen Center of Excellence on October 8.
In his remarks at the inaugural ceremony, Demeke said the Center, built with the support of the People and Government of Japan, “will serve as a hub of excellence serving the training, research, and development needs of not only Ethiopians but also fellow Africans,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
Citing the improvements in the production and service sectors of the economy since the implementation of the Kaizen philosophy in Ethiopia, it is being streamlined in the development plan to further bolster productivity and improve the quality of service delivery, Demeke further said.
“Building the institutional capacity of the center, he added, will further boost the culture of industriousness and serve as a hub of regional and continental excellence”, according to MoFA.
