Addis Ababa( Ethiopia Today) September 3, 2023: The Ethiopian Ministry of Defense was forced to replace the old number plates on army vehicles across the country with new ones, effective August 31, the ministry’s logistics head announced.
Let. General Abdurhaman Esmaeile, Logistics Head of the Ministry, said the change was necessary due to various reasons, including army vehicle number plates being found in the hands of others and used “without the approval” of the army’s institution.
The ministry further explained that the number plates are being changed in order to prevent the old ones from being used for “illegal activities.”
The new umber plates are coded according to the services the specific vehicles are assigned to provide based on the mission and duty of the army, the Ministry added.
