Addis Ababa( Ethiopia Today) August 28, 2023: The Addis Ababa Campus of KEA-MED College bestowed recognition upon nearly 500 Masters to level four students in a ceremony held at the Ethiopian Conference Center on August 26, 2023.
Out of the total 481 graduates, 109 are Masters graduates in Adult Health Nursing and Public Health Reproductive Health Specialty, 214 are undergraduates in Nursing and Health Officer Training, 4 are technical and vocational level graduates, and 155 are graduates of Nursing, Accounting, and Budget.
President of the College,Mahder Ziqu, congratulated graduates on their educational achievements and highlighted that the 20th round of graduation for Addis Ababa Campus and the 21st round in the College’s history showcase its path to success.
“Women make up 86 percent of the graduates, and that clearly demonstrates the college’s contribution to empowering women, the president said.
The 72 percent passing rate of our regular students in the first exit exam conducted by the Ministry of Education also bears testament to the emphasis we put on quality education,” stated the President of the College.
KEA-MED is a private business making efforts to address the gap in trained manpower that was established in 2002. Excluding graduates this year, KEA-MED College has trained and supplied 18,681 students to the medical sector.
The College has ventured into alleviating the medical oxygen shortage that has been evident since the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic by establishing two medical oxygen plants in Debre Birhan and Debre Markos with an outlay of over 80 million birr. It’s also preparing to launch more than ten medical oxygen plants in various regional administrations of the country.
