Addis Ababa( Ethiopia Today) June 5,2023: US Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa, Mike Hammer arrives in mekele this morning for scheduled meeting with senior leadership of the Tigray Interim Administration.
Tigray’s Interim Admin President, Getachew Reda, & other cabinet members welcomed Ambassador Mike, who is accompanied by Ambassador Tracy Ann Jacobson, at the Ras Alula Aba Nega International Airport in Mekelle.
According to State Department, while in Ethiopia, Ambassador Mike is expected to discuss the progress and priorities of the implementation of the Nov. 2022 Cessation of Hostilities Agreement(COHA), including transitional justice & accountability efforts, as well as disarmament, demobilization, & reintegration programming.
His meetings include both with African Union officials, #Ethiopian government officials in Addis Abeba, and with the Tigray Interim Regional Administration in Mekelle.
