- Death Penalty Included
Addis Ababa (Ethiopia Today) May, 30, 2023: Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has signed one of the world’s most stringent anti-LGBTQ laws, including the death penalty for “aggravated homosexuality,” Reuters reports.

The law provides capital punishment for “serial offenders” against the law and transmission of a terminal illness like HIV/AIDS through gay sex.
It also imposes a 20-year sentence for the “promotion” of homosexuality.
Uganda receives billions of dollars in foreign aid every year, which could now be subject to sanctions.
