Addis Ababa( Ethiopia Today) May 25, 2023: Ethiopia and Ukraine agreed to establish a bilateral trade commission in a bid to boost the countries’ relations.
According to Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister, who was on his first ever visit to Ethiopia,
“We see many opportunities to boost Ukrainian-Ethiopian relations,” Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed tweeted late last night after the two sides met yesterday.
Earlier in the day, Minister Kuleba met and held talks with AUC Chairperson Moussa Faki, during which he said he “reiterated Ukraine’s determination to reinvigorate relations with African states based on mutual respect and benefits.”
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister started a trip to African countries in an attempt to draw support for Kiev against what he called Russia’s “aggression” on the country.
Dmytro Kuleba urged African nations on Wednesday to abandon “neutrality” on the conflict in Ukraine and take Kiev’s side.
“We speak with our African friends, trying to explain to them that neutrality is not the answer,” he said during a visit to Ethiopia’s Addis Ababa, the home of the headquarters of the African Union AU.
