Addis Ababa (Ethiopia Today), May 14, 2023: Safaricom Ethiopia awarded the first grand prize winner in its “Terek Begursha” national promotion prize yesterday in Addis Ababa.
The winners include Mubarek Surur, who won a brand new Mitsubishi car from Addis Ababa; Naoli Mohamad, who won a Bajaj from Adama; and two motorcycle winners, Ashenafi Tadesse from Dire Dawa and Muktar Mohammed from Afar Region, along with multiple smartphone and tablet winners from different cities across Ethiopia.
The campaign, which began on April 5th, 2023, has already awarded daily airtime prizes to 400,000 customers and plans to award five Bajajs, five motorcycles, two cars, multiple devices, and airtime over the next seven weeks.
To have a shot at becoming one of these fortunate individuals, customers simply need to purchase a Safaricom SIM card, recharge their existing line with airtime, download and use WhatsApp with their new number, or buy packages of their choosing.

Terek Begursha, a play on Amharic words to mean a bonus gained, is a lucky draw that awards unique codes to new subscribers of Safaricom Ethiopia, with the opportunity to receive various prizes such as motorcycles, Bajajs, smartphones, tablets, and cars. Winners will get a call from 0700 700 700 on their Safaricom SIM cards.
The promotion will run until July 4th, 2023, across regions in Ethiopia where the Safaricom network has been switched on.
