Addis Ababa ( Ethiopia Today) February20, 2023:- The Ethiopian Food and Drug Authority (EFDA) has disclosed that all medicine manufacturers, importers, and wholesalers must seek approval for any promotional material .
In the official letter written by Seyoum Wolde, Deputy Director week ago, medicine manufacturers, importers, and wholesalers must seek approval for any promotional material to ensure the safety, quality, and efficacy of medicines, the letter reads.
According to EFDA regulations, the content of medicine promotions should not be false or misleading and must comply with applicable laws. Manufacturers and importers should submit their promotional material for approval and notify the EFDA of authorized medical representatives. Failure to comply with these regulations may result in serious consequences.
The EFDA encourages the responsible use of promotional material to ensure medicines are used in a rational and appropriate manner. All importers and manufacturers are advised to submit their applications for approval as soon as possible. This regulation applies to all regional regulatory bodies and other concerned parties.
